Dresden

It’s astounding to think that Dresden was virtually flattened during the second world war. Its tragic to think of the ordinary human lives that were ruined through the Nazi regime on both the Allied and the German civilian sides. It is a terribly obvious thing to say but war is a awful thing.
I can’t seem to get my head around all of the destruction, and all of the recreation that happens after such horror.
i can’t get my head around all of the sadness and agony that people must have felt.

I take great joy in this church and everything it symbolises, the collective spirit overcoming tragedy, recreating the world just as it was before, rewinding to a point where everything was ok and then deciding to go forward from there.
