Back to school

So, end of day two and I’m already completely exhausted. What we’re doing isn’t incomprehensible and with practice I will certainly improve. We’ve begun by learning how to write the news, and I think that if I’m able to absorb what Keith has taught us, I will be in with a fairly good chance of being able to write a serviceable news story.

We start at 8:30 in the morning and by about midday I am mainlining coffee in order to stay focused (the last few jobs I’ve had haven’t ever required much all of my concentration). We finished at 6:30 tonight and I think that this will be the last one that we will have where we don’t have to work on redrafts or the magazine that we are producing (on the uber exciting topic of retirement business).

We had our first Teeline shorthand class this evening. They are running from 5-6:30, which in my mind is the time that I am dreaming about dinner and tuning out, so here’s hoping that my concentration is a wee bit better tomorrow.

I am afraid that I will be even more sporadic in posts and in real life – this is probably the easy week, only the second day and already I’m exhausted.
