Eye on the prize

Well since July 5th I have written somewhere in the vicinity of 50 news stories, five features, subbed innumerable articles as well as spending about an hour and a half each day working on my shorthand (I’m not getting better very quickly). Of those 55 stories, I have had to resubmit many of them several times, and its not because I’m dumb, just not perfect. That comes down to a lot of words.

On top of that I have written a further three features of 800 words each, done nearly two weeks work experience at Drapers (they are all really lovely). There is only a week and a half until I get my life back and I need to keep my eye on the prize and make sure I keep practicing my shorthand/media law/grammar/ magazine business/ writing….

Next week I have exams, which hopefully I shall pass and then graduate on Friday. I have to go up to Yorkshire this weekend for a wedding.

I can’t help but get excited about what my life will look like three months from now, hopefully I’ll be settling into a fantastic job at a fabulous magazine and I have something that resembles a life again. Hopefully.
