Wheat and fun free

I’ve recently been told to give up wheat as it has been making me ill. There are a lot of things that taste good that contain wheat, not only that there are a lot of wheaty things that are fairly central to my diet - Bagels, cereal and pasta being three. So naturally I’ve been cheating a bit and then suffering later. I ate a digestive and half a chocolate cheese cake last night and I felt so sick.

Today I went so far as to have the Sainsbury’s “free from” pasta, I can’t decide if I like or not, it’s quite rubbery, yet feels as though its going to disintegrate and doesn’t taste anything like real pasta. Oh and I forgot to mention, it’s bright yellow.

I don’t really want to live like one of those crazy people who is mortally afraid of carbs or only eats carob covered raisins instead of the chocolate kind in my hemp clothes shopping only at Fresh and Expensive, but I get so ill.

Even though I’ll probably never get a dinner invite ever again as I’m suddenly the most difficult person in the room to cater for (probably even worse than the vegetarian friend).

Does anybody have any suggestions about things that I can enjoy?
